Single line lunging with side reins

I'm looking for options on the idea of lunging a horse on a single line but using side reins
to keep the horse's nose tipped into the circle. That set up would be for the purpose of a beginners riding lesson.

I do not single line lung horses but beginner riding lessons is one case where it would be helpful to me. I want to make sure it won't hurt my horse though!
