I happy to say that I performed in my first horse show last Sunday and came in 2nd place. A lot of work had to be done, earlier that day before the show did another successful join-up with my leased horse, the show was a bit scary, but I got through it, my horse did spook a bit at the beginning and I was nervous to get back on him to do the next show. I successfully made it to the next show, and won my first ribbon, 2nd place out of 11 people in my class, which is a great start, for showing.:)

Hi. Well done. Believe me, it gets easier the more you do. I used to Team Chase ( cross country in teams & all against the clock ). I used to get sick worrying whether Apollo & I would survive but as we did more of these events my confidence grew with my belief in Apollo - who was always careful to be a safe conveyance. Sadly, I no longer have Apollo. He died in 2005, aged 38! No Team Chasing in the last 14 years together but lots of other stuff. Great memories! I have now retired from work, early & have a herd of 5. The yearling & this years filly foal are all about the future but I have Max to start driving - the cart & harness arrived the other day & Humphrey to start under saddle & in harness now he's gelded ( said babies Dad ). I am going to be busy but that's a good thing. They are all such characters in their own right and every one of them is as gentle as anyone could wish! Have fun. Jo
