Peeing on feed

Hi
Ive got a yearling filly and we've noticed that every time she gets her feed or hay she pees on it and shes been doing this since she was a foal. So we wanted to know if its just a bad habit shes learnt of if it could be something more. Any help would be appreciated

Well, this little habit is not that uncommon, but just install a wall mounted manger?...or feed net?...Mount the grain bucket high enough?

Our Barney Shetland, 5yr old pulls hay out of his net and makes a pile then pee's on it.. so we've made a little area in his pen where he can have a bit of hay to pee on and that's the only place he pees, nice and easy to clean up :D
