Hi, this is the beginning of my 2nd year on site. I was wondering if there was a map and list we could incorporate on the forum. It might give our names and cities ( voluntary only of course). It would help if we also could include a list of Monty minded trainers and boarding facilities. If you feel the place you are at is open to the non-violence policy. My problem is in getting sucked into barns quickly wanting to depart my old barn and not getting the truth. Later on I find they.are really only interested in training my.horse and giving me "lessons'. When I respectfully decline suddenly I receive reports that my horse is an instigator and does this or that. Prior to my refusal of their services she was spoken of as just fine. If we could begin an actual web of Monty Minded Places it.would be awesome! Irishwabbit

Hi Irishwabbit!
I agree with you in the point that it would be nice, if there was a list like that. I personally would be such a voluntary. But especially I think there should be the list of Monty Roberts Instructors, where they live and work (countries and cities should both be mentioned).

I think this is a great idea!!!!! I live in an area where there are only "riding clubs" that I know..... Expensive places where they occsionally have a "natural horse-training" course at an exhorbitant price or non at all.
But then you speak to different individuals and they have heard talk of Monty´s methods and would like to learn more
One of my next dreams is to find a way to bring Monty to my corner of Cantabria (Northern Spain).
My home is in the middle of nowhere, 5 minutes away from the little town of Ontaneda and of the town of Vega de Pas, in the Valley of the River Pas. The district is Luena and it is off the road from Santander to Burgos.
Does anybody know it?
Christy
Hi Christy!
Until now I have only heard about Santander and Burgos, I had it in my Spanish lessons in school, before I deselected it because I was not the best one in class. ;-)
I think nearly everybody in this Uni wants Monty to come in to his corner. I'm living in Hamburg, and I was really lucky, because he came in April 2008! I have been to his show, bought some things, made a photo with him (really bad quality if you have only a mobile phone with you) and was really amazed by his methods. I heard a lot of him before this and read several books, but I had never seen him before. And when I heard about the new Uni, the first thing I did when it was open for students was to sign in immediately! The 30th of April in 2008 was my day to say: "I want to learn this and later be able to teach it!" And now I am doing both of it: One day a week I'm working with the horse of a good friend and sometimes I'm even teaching something to my mother! Only a few weeks ago she had her first Join-Up and Follow-Up!
So, I know how you feel. Many people just do not understand that Monty's methods are full of nature and independence for the horse, because we are giving them the freedom of choice.
So, it would be nice to here from you!
