We were writing in another post about massaging accupunture points on horses.....and i would Like to spare this With you all.
My farrier came out about 4 weeks ago, after cutting 3 of Shilos hooves he had problems With Shilos back Right hoof.
This hoof has always been a bit of a problem.
The farrier, who is just the best i ever have had, checked Shilo all over and told me that he suspected that Shilo was having an issue in his hip.
He gave me the number to a horse massage person who he uses on a regular basis.
The massage lady came and checked Shilo for 2 hours... no joke...., she Found out that Shilo was very very tense in hisright hip, she Said that there is a tendon called an S tendon there which was very taught, and that this was why he didnt Like to have his leg held up.
She did som very Strange things With Shilo! she worked his hip, leg, hoof, and tail.
She explained to me that it was Like acupunture without needles. Just Like Lucie Said.
Already after 2 hours Shilo was more relaxed, almost docil.
He was Much Much better at lifting his hoof.
The lady gave me some excersises to do With Shilo.
She also explained to me that this is why Shilo has always been a bit ‘worried’ about everything, because When he has pain, then he is always on flight mode.
One of the excersises is to stand With my hand between his hips, about a hand width from the tail and tap with two fingers , not hard.
This vibrates the S tendon and relaxes it.
She is coming back in a few weeks for another session with him.
The whole 2 hours cost £20. !,,,,
So, what you said was completely correct Lucie. Thank you.
Best wishes from Dionne, Denmark 🇩🇰
Sounds a bit like Nalle's problems, btw. He has problems in that area too, so it was really good to hear how you have managed it. Thanks for sharing!
Next time the massage lady comes, i Will ask her if i Can video her, and if thats ok With her i Can post it on youtube so you Can see. Or, if you have an email i Can mail it to you.
BTW , it Might be an idea for this forum to have a section where members Can post videos? It Might be easier than trying to describe complicated things. Just an idea.
Best regards from Dionne and Shilo.
I am so happy for you and Shilo, I hope the next sessions will help get to the bottom of his tensions and once he's free of the pain it'll be like a new beginning :D
It must be strange for him as well, being used to the pain he'll expect it for a while but when he realises it's gone for good he'll probably be so much happier to work with you.
It's funny reading about your experience, i remember thinking exactly the same during our first session (what the **** is she doing... wow it works!)
I'd love to see a video if she'll allow it
Sorry sometimes you can't see everything and there's a lot of chatting because she was explaining what she was doing (if you don't speak french, i would mute it when watching, it's annoying^^)
in that session she was working on sarcoids (you can see the big one on Dayka's belly) and allergy to bug bites (working on the lower intestine)
Before the video she asked me questions about my horse's personnality, how i perceived her on hand and working, how i would describe our relationship and how she dealt with challenges (curiosity, anger, etc). In the first part she assesses her physically and explains what she will be working on.
