Do you hook the long lines and the side reins both onto the ring on the snaffle bit of the bridle, or the side reins into the rings of the Dually Halter, the long lines into the rings of the snaffle bit, or should side reins and long lines only be snapped onto the rings of the Dually Halter when long lining?

Thank you,
Ken G.

Hi Ken. I think it depends on your horse. If you're horse is a novice then definitely long reins to the Dually halter & VERY LOOSE side reins to the snaffle bit. Only gradually bring the side reins into play so your horse has time to learn & relax. Also, only use side reins with an elasticated element so the horse is comfortable. I have seen Monty demonstrate how this should be done but off hand I don't remember which lesson. I'll have a look & see if I can be more specific for you. Cheers, Jo.

Hi. That was easier than I thought. Look for " Long lining for single line longed horses" episode 4.
