Hi, I just wanted to say thanks to Monty for the loading lesson and in particular the section on loading into step up trailers. I have always had in UK ramps for loading and now in Canada step up trailers are the norm. I'm in the process of planning to move house and was starting to get worried about moving horse as they haven't been on a trailer since they arrived 3 years ago and never having used a step up. Well they were absolute stars, one only took about 20 minutes before she was jumping in and stepping out of the trailer, the other who I have posted about before losing her confidence I had to use panels behind but after about and hour of just patiently waiting for her to decide to step in, she was in and out and very quickly we were able to remove the panels. I felt so proud and much relieved!!!

Hi Karen. Well done you! And your horses! This is a perfect example of caring enough to put the effort in & then reaping the benefits. You'll NEVER regret taking this time & your horses will ALWAYS remember this & regard you as the preferred option. When you challenge them again, if you approach the situation in the right way, you'll get better/quicker acceptance - whatever the challenge is. Total win for all involved. Cheers, Jo.
What a wonderful outcome Karen, so inspirational, thank you! Patient effort and letting them work things out with gentle guidance sure does make a difference!
Thanks for your lovely comments :) Next challenge is when we move but feeling a lot more relaxed about it!
Just take your time when your going to move, if you feel tense deep breath and let it out again. You've done the hard work by practicing, it will be just another practice session only you're going to go somewhere afterwards.
