I am a general music teacher, K-3. I find it fascinating that the concepts that I work toward in class (relaxing, incremental learning, making learning enjoyable, having positive experiences) are the same ones that Monty stresses in his life's work. I have recently shared his horse sense book with another teacher. I see many correlations between the two.

Hi. This crossover is no surprise to me. There is a basic theme running through all Monty's lessons, the answer to almost all the problems people have with horses could apply in other situations too. It has been a great joy to me to see my youngsters, a yearling colt & a 3 month old filly foal, progressing like you would hardly believe. Monty has applied very similar concepts to his children, both fostered & natural. Music would also be an area where these concepts would be applicable. It has already been proved that there is benefit where someone has PTSD OR PDSI. Cheers, jo

I agree tripp...I work with dogs and horses and the number of people who say "You couldn't train my husband/wife/kids/boss ...could you?"

Hi horses and people most of the time love music people dance
and dance i was grooming a 16 hand horse and at the same time i had music on cd player and the top part of her tail was dansing with the music this was a very long time ago.
i have allwas gotalong with both people and horses.

Hi guys, I have found that my horses are very rhythmical in their approach to life and always have music playing during the training sessions. The sounds of music seem to vibrate within us at a very deep, soulful level and that usually brings about a very relaxed moment which opens the mind to learning. I am reminded that the famous rider-trainer,Nuno Oliveria from Portugal always worked his horses to classical music. He felt that there was a deep connection between the two art forms. Monty Roberts has taken horse training and how he sees our relationship developing with these horses to an art form. I believe that is what separates him from most other trainers and clinicians. As in the learning dynamic with music, if we can be patient and incremental, we can find accomplishment.
