I'm am a student from You for over 6 years .
I'm riding horses for about 45 years, first 15 years ENGLISH in Germany and for the
last 30 years WESTERN in ALBERTA/Canada.
For me the first months,... maybe years it was hard to ride on a "LONG REIN".
ENGLISH was a CONTACT ON A SHORTER REIN (COLLECTED) !
I WAS LEARNING IN THE UNIVERSITY A LOT OF GREAT THINGS FROM YOU !
THANK YOU FOR THIS !
NOW MY QUESTION :
I'm now almost 73 and like to learn to DRIVE A HORSE !
IF IT IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO GIVE LESSONS AND ADVICE for Peoples like me in OUR ONLINE - UNIVERSITY ?
Maybe this is even for other "UNI-STUDENTS" HELPFUL ?!
Sorry about my "ENGLISH" but I'm a OLD GERMAN !!

Lovely to see your comment on the Uni. 73 years old still enjoying horses, this is so inspiring to hear.
I agree learning how to drive a horse would be a useful lesson to me too! I am too big to ride most of our horses but have not had learnt the skill of driving a horse yet, it would be beneficial to do.
Hope to see you more on the forum, good practice for your English ;) I cheat when I use other languages and take advantage of Google Translate. :D

This is a great idea. So helpful to many - the sadly outgrown, much loved child's pony can have a new role in the family, the enthusiastic injured rider can recuperate whilst keeping their close relationship with their horses, the horse lovers who, for whatever reasons, are unable to or no longer able to ride & even some horses who are no longer comfortable carrying a rider but are able to pull in comfort. Thank you for posting this. I want to have Monty's insights on driving horses/ponies so please put this on the Uni. Cheers, Jo.
Dear Hans,

Thank-you so much for bringing this up. Many, many, thank-yous for the untiring work that you Monty as well as Debbie have put into this to help all peoples, your in my prayers as well as all your staff.I have learnt sooooo much on the uni & am passing it on to all that I may here in N.B. Canada. The tools I have bought from you have been so helpful in all that I do with my 5 curly horses.Especially the dually halters which I will also ride them in.Next is the longlining for us,which I am sure we'll all do just fine at,no rider yet.All ground work for a bit first. With my first join-up I got all 4 gestures, Not the first day but the second day I got all 4. Monty you are truly a very special person!! No whips for me or my horses. I believe this is the best way ever!!
I think we never STOP LEARNING !
I;m looking forward to the coming DRIVING-LESSONS !
Thanks Monty !
