Hi all.
I tried double lunging on a horse. first time was ok, but at the second time, things went differently.
at walk and trot it was ok, but when I asked for canter, this horse was bothered by the lunge behind the hindquarter. he went at the lope, and started to buck at the lunge at every 4 and 5 steps. Funny rodeo time, but not what I expected really.
Any advice?

Hi cyril!
.
When I was on Flag Is Up Farms last year to attend Monty's special training clinic, we had a similar case with young mare Monty had just started. She kicked and kicked at the lines at the second day of her training, and Monty started to put her to work harder. For some laps he just turned the horse over and over again, nearly every half lap in the roundpen. SO the filly had plenty of work to do. After about five minutes she stopped bucking and started working again. Monty rewarded her by relaxing and no more turning her too often.

Hope this will help! Let us know about your progress!

In addition to Jasmin's advice you may wish to spend much more time with him just getting him used to the ropes over his rump and behind him prior to trying again.
Hi Jasmin and Maggie,
Thanks for your advice and support. I'll try that!
Just go on and be patient. It will work.
