I have been away from the Uni for a while. I'm back and hope to be here for as long as Monty provides this service. I just finished , MONTY'S TOUR DEMONSTRATIONS: Spooky Enjoy Part 1: The Problem
I heard Monty say that some think he can't teach his join up to others (other time, Join Up is a sales gimmick. I'm here to tell you that I learned to do and teach others Join-up before I even joined the Uni (from youtube). Monty also mentioned that he want's his students to be better than him. I will never be even as good as Monty. I hope that he will count me as a student because I come here to Equus University.
I will never be able to walk in Monty's foot steps. They are way to big. I just hope to walk quietly behind him. I am in the processes of saving for a piece of property here in Colorado. This is my new home. I am going to set up an OTTB rescue and retraining center.
Thank you Monty for helping me relies my dream and life's purpose, Greg
Hi Greg,
Welcome back to the Uni and the forum! It's great to have you back among us!
Your humble words touched me deeply.
Let me add something, that I realised not too long ago, when I had the opportunity to watch him work and speak with Monty in person. His is a very rare talent, his mission and passion are as genuine as possible!
Being able to learn from such unique talent is something very special, it's bigger than life!
It's not technique or tools that count, it's his being able to "see" and put into words, that help us learning to become the best horseperson we can be...
The "feel" for the horses is his greatest gift.
All the best with your new life, please keep us informed!
Miriam
Thank you for your kind words. hope to the Man someday. He has been a true inspiration.
Nice to see you back Greg. I know what you mean about following in his footsteps, we just have to keep trying to be the best we can and enjoying the journey!

So true Miriam, the more I work with dogs and horses the more I want us to move away from "commands" and "tasks" and towards a shared experience that both can enjoy. Onwards towards enlightenment ;-)
Welcome back, GregG! And best of luck with that property in Colorado. I've passed through that state once - long time ago now! - and it is so beautiful there.
Thanks Vicci, I like your observation of Miriam's post, "...move away from "commands" and "tasks" and towards a shared experience that both can enjoy. Onwards towards enlightenment..." I will uses those thought and credit you and Miriam. I think folks could really use that observation to better humanity.
Thanks Kicki, I'm saving up for the property. I'm here in Denver now. I should have the down payment by March. I'm gonna do a Go Fund Me account to raise the monies for a barn and first years operating costs. I hope to up and running strong by next fall. I this a Nonprofit would also be a good idea. It's all very ambitious, but I think doable.
:
A friend of mine who works for a boarding ranch says horses rescues are busting at the seams. Add in difficult and not particularly ridible OTTB's and life for them is quit dim. So the fact I will be retraining them to be saddle horses I think is a plus and very realistic.
Greg, good to have you back. Lovely to hear what you're able to do. I'm looking for land here in the UK too to help horses in need, but can only afford to rent. Wish you well in your journey, you will have many joys!

Thanks Mel Sorry to hear you can't buy in the UK. I hope some landlord see the good you are doing and is generous with land and easy on rent.
Thanks Greg, I'm sure my hunting will be rewarded. One more no can only lead to a yes. :D
