Hi. Monty favours a light bamboo cane, padded so as to ensure it cannot cause pain but you can use any type of available stick so long as it is light enough for you to move it easily & strong enough that it does not break too easily as a broken end could be dangerous. Bamboo is known for it's lightness & strength. It is used by gardeners widely & is readily available at modest cost. Cheers, Jo.
Ok. I alreay use a bamboo stick.I love mine. I have used it for working with mustangs. but didnt know if he used something different.
Hi. Monty uses a heavier, padded stick with a padded hand & a stiff thumb for helping horses learn to pick up their feet. Bamboo would be too light weight for that. Cheers, Jo.
