Ok so H was watching monty cutting video. he was talking about rollback and leads. Im a barrel racer. I also have a different horse I jump with. but I found it very interesting what he was saying about we alway want are horses are the left lead to make a left turn and right for right turns. and how if the horse is crossing over in the front how the lead foot get in the way. I can see were he is making a alot of scents with the rollback that he did in the video. If ur horses is on the right lead to make a left turn and left lead for right turn. how it really look like a natural movement verse fourth movement. I just found it very interesting to me and would of NEVER thought of it.
give me your thought on it. I want to know what ever one else thinks.... IS MONTY ON TO SOMETHING!!!

Hello
.
Yes, Monty is onto something. After watching this lesson, I experimented with my horse that I barrel race with and when we did the rollbacks he was on the right lead to turn left etc without me asking.
.
I thought that this principle would also work for running barrels, but my horse naturally chooses the left lead to turn left and the right lead to turn right when we run barrels. This could be that he has been trained to do that, but he did this without me asking. I have another horse that I am starting to prepare for barrels and I am keen to see what lead he chooses naturally to do this.
.
I also suggested that a Barrel Racing video be made for the Online Uni which hopefully will explore this in the context of barrel racing.
.
See you later,
.
