Adopted a two year old rescue (Gypsy)who had spent one year in a stall and small run. She had absolutely no training, haltering, loading in trailer etc. Although I have other horses in my life and have improved through natural horsemanship, I am not experienced with such a baby. Others thought I should just send her to a trainer. She has only been with me for one month. I joined Equus online and ordered the dually halter. After four times, she leads, halters easily, loads, backs, and we are both learning, learning, learning. What a sweetheart she is!

Great story.
Good for you! And thank you for taking in a rescue horse. I volunteer at a rescue so I see the poor babies at their lowest points. It is always heartening to hear success stories from those who take a rescue home and give them a better life :)

Hello
.
I have a rescue horse too, and he is just so wonderful. Recently I have started working with him on Western Trail Riding. He took all the obsticals in his stride. Like crossing the bridge, walking over poles etc. We are working on side passing now.
.
He is the most precious horse and we have such a wonderful relationship thanks to everything I have learnt here on the Uni. My relationship with my other horses has also improved beyond belief.
.
Keep up the good work with your baby, and be careful where you send her if you eventually do choose to send her to a Trainer. Make sure the Trainer shares your values.
.
See you later,
.
