When I am watching this lesson on equine touch it reminds me of when I am massaging a human.
Before I start I also look for hot spots.
The reason I was given in my lessons for doing this is to discover inflamation in the muscel tissue.
There is no voodo involved, it is a science and I know I'm going to enjoy these lessons so much.
Thank you Monty and the team for bringing this to us.

Hi again,
While I was grooming STAR just now, I noticed some hot spots on her front left shoulder and her backend.
As I was touching her in these areas she moved, amazing.
I can't wait for the next session.
Anyone else enjoy this lesson and have you tried to see with your horse if there are any hot spots?
Hi Ronda,
yes, I do enjoy this lesson! It is a fantastic way to find out about problems without having any kind of technical equipment! I am sad that I have no horse on my own to try it, but maybe I will be able to do it within my field study for my Intro Course (I am now practising for my exam).
Best wishes from Hamburg, Germany
Jasmin
Hi Jasmin,
I was just on Jock and Ivana's site and it says that Jock has passed away.
That is so sad, it asks us to light a candle for him.
Brings tears to my eyes and I don't even know him.
Have a great day.
Ronda
Dear Ivana,
My heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow.
I did not know how to get a message to you but maybe someone on this site will know how and can pass on my sympathy.
Yours very trully,
Ronda Bergeron from Canada

I was really enjoying the first lesson in the Equine Touch lesson, and then to find out that Jock had passed away was certainly a shock to say the least. I would have been nice if there had been an explanation or a tribute to the man. He certainly was an interesting person to go from a police officer to a world wrestler to a equine body worker. Amazing!
We are most fortunate to be able to listen to the wisdom that he is passing on to us. Everything he showed not only makes sense to me, but looks like a very easy routine to master. I know my horse will not show pain and will keep doing whatever I ask of him, so I always need to be hyper vigilant to make sure is OK. He has been rehabbing for the last fees month after injuring a tendon in his hock. I only know about it when he finally started limping. Now I can be more pro active. Thank you Jock and Ivana for the valuable lesson
Cheers
Hi Ronda,
.
oh, that is really sad! I will light a candle for him today. It is so sad that people like him have to pass away someday, like we all do. People like him have the potential to inspire the world, like Monty does, too. Can't think of him passing away one day. We all have to follow his mission and spread his words, even to people who don't know anything about horses, too leave the world a better place!
.
In tears

I have just watched the first session with Jock and Ivana. I know them well as I am an Equine Touch Practitioner. I have learnt so much from them both during my training. He is as inspirational as Monty in terms of understanding the needs of the horse, particularly in regard to pain management.
I find myself in tears about this now as it reminds me so much of when we worked together only one year ago. He was ill then but determined to try and fight the battle and just wanted to work with horses at any opportunity.
As Practitioners we are fully behind Ivana and want to spread the word about Equine Touch to as many as possible.
Horses absolutely love Equine Touch and it is so rewarding working with them and helping them.
I live in Cheshire so if anyone wants to contact me, let me know.
We now have an International Equine Touch day which is in memory of Jock's birthday, 25 July.
Oh what a shock! I met Jock while I was on one of Kelly Marks' courses; it's nice that you are doing that Ruth. My sympathies to Ivana and best wishes for the ongoing development of Equine Touch.
I was a bit suspicious with this method, but than when I saw that it's all science based, I think it's pretty cool. It's like what a physical therapist does.
I'm very happy everyone beleives that this method will work and help our horses be all that they can be.
Ruth please let Ivana know that each one of us are thinking of her at this time.
I never had the opportunity to meet he or his wife but I believe in this method.
And I know that STAR will be a better horse for it!!
From all of us,
Ronda
I emailed Ivana yesterday to let her know about Equine Touch being shown on the University. I know she is struggling at present but is determined to carry on the work she and Jock started many years ago.
If anyone is interested in the work please have a look at the website as you will see this modality is not only for horses but for people and now our other favourites, I think, dogs. I know my dog loves having her session. She is nearly 14 now and I am sure all the Cannine Touch sessions are helping with her old bones now. She still behaves like a 2 year old at times.
You will see from the website that there are now Practitioners all over the world and maybe one close to you that you could investigate and maybe learn some of the techniques for your own horses.
Jock always said that "If every horse owner did Level 1 it would changes horses lives forever". I firmly believe that as not everyone was to study to Practitioner level they just want their horses to be happy and well.
I suppose like Monty he doesn't want everyone to be an Instructor but just to understand a better way to work with horses.
Ruth
