I want to teach my horse to neck rein. What is the easiest method. A friend said to cross the reins down by the bit and bring them up. Any ideas? Thanks

I was told the same thing by a horse trainer but I have not tried it myself.
Hi Deaconswife. Welcome to the forum. I think your suggestion is liable to cause confusion. It would make sense, to me at least, to a) use the Uni in full b) teach the horse to move away from your leg, off pressure & c) add the rein to that. The lesson last week was exactly that. If you study the lessons & then take Monty's Challenge you will gain accreditations (rosettes). We all look forward to hearing how you get on so keep us posted. Cheers, Jo.
Well I watched this video and boy am I out of my comfort zone! Not being much of a rider (too heavy) and never having competed I had trouble understanding any of this! Good learning :-)
