Well I made a "round pen" at one end of the school with jump wings & poles set about 4'. Took the rising 4 y.o tb x ID mare into it, orientated her in there, I sent her away and all went really well. We achieved Join-Up and follow-up which was great. The only thing I forgot was to turn to 45 degrees but the mare didn't seem worried, I had her about a month so she's settled in, had her teeth done waiting for her back to be looked at (Monday next week), so I've just been playing with her. The sand school isn't that secure that's why I left it, and I wanted her settled and happy. Will learn from my forgetfulness today and do better tomorrow.

Sounds as if it all went great Tiggy. Sometimes our horses are happy with "good enough" and may get irritated with our attempts at perfection. If the horse is happy then all is well :-)
Well done Tiggy, none of us are perfect, we're all learning all our lives.
your mare was happy
& relaxed, thats what counts - have fun x
Thanks guys, had to rebuild round pen, someone had used the school after me!! Pain in the arse, however had a much better Join-Up/follow-up today, still need practice. Mare is so willing and forgiving of my inexperience, considering she's only coming 4. Give her quality time at the end, so she goes off to eat grass, school not properly maintained so bit of pick in the middle & edges!! Just really happy she's not barging thru the fence. Could do with widening it to see what I might be forgetting you know the finesse things.
Sorry bloody predictive craps on the phone meant videoing.
