I wish you could add more tips and material about stopping. How do I make my horse to stop with his legs and not with his hands?

You breath out to make your weight seem heavier on the saddle, lean back in your seat with your legs semi straightened and forward. If necessary you can do the whoa too.
thankyou, I will give that a go. Im too scared to trot cause I dont think he is gonna stop.
I was thinking that the lesson could be extended with examples of trained horses that have picked up the tendency to go into the bit. I am trying to work on stops with the mare I am regularly riding. She is already old (19 years old... but nobody would guess by seeing her as she is really healthy and lively ;)), and she is incredibly strong. So I always try not to fight with her, otherwhise she is just stronger than me. I try to give her fair and precise orders, and to release the pressure as soon as she does something well. But I do not know everything about her past (I just know that she comes from the army), and she has already taken the tendency to go into the bit, and to resist when she decides that she does not want to stop for a reason or another. So I am curious to see the solution to fix this :)
