It is heartening to see that Monty's concepts and ideas are picked up or paralleled by other trainers and horse people in the world.
I keep noticing the very same key words creeping up in magazine interviews/articles and on horse training peoples' sites: "Incremental" "body language" "slow is fast" "cooperate with the horse" etc.
Whether they have heard of Monty Roberts or not, I can't say, but the ideas are definitely starting to seep into the horse training world.
.
As an example, today I happened upon a site with training videos called "training with trust".
Now, they are selling horse treats, so of course they incorporate treats in the training, but that is beside the point here -(and she incrementally stops using treats in favor of other rewards like a neck stroke anyway)- because she (the woman trainer) emphasizes things like moving in incremental steps, remember to stay calm and breathe, take your time, never hit the horse, in a way that it is strange to think she hasn't heard of Monty Roberts.

Agree Kicki! It's encouraging. People might like to read some of Temple Grandin's work. We were lucky to have Monty and Temple record a discussion with the Monty Roberts Certifed Instructors on Horsemanship Radio. Some of my favorite quotes were:
"There is an old saying that the Pioneers get shot and the Settlers get to prosper."
"The problem with being ahead of your time is that by the time people realize you were right, they will say it was obvious all along."
