@raybay Would you like to see the dictionary (such as in Monty's book From My Hands to Yours) illustrated in video as it happens in a Join-Up or in a more specific way?
I would like to see more video of equus as that is the primary reason I joined the university. I've read all the books, have several of his DVDs, been to several demonstrations, practiced on experienced, inexperienced and even a wild mustang. I already know how to lunge, train, ask for lead changes, etc., although I would never profess to know it all. Equus is still the primary focus I would like to see from Monty as that is what drew me to his work in the first place. That is what is so world changing about his work, and world changing for horses and people, so please give me more of that for the money I have spent on the university. I want to be challenged more in that arena...
I agree whole heartedly with Val. I would like anything you will give us. I think the dictionary illustrated in video would be excellent.
I would like to see lots of film of wild herds and watch them communicate ,see the dominant mare sending away a youngster and so on, it wd be very fascinating, can't get enough of seeing the wild ones communicating I think, as it is where Monty learned.
One more for this. me too!
Christy
I will vouch for the need for this module ive just left a notice about psychology in essence the same thing. And ive done the foundation course in the UK but will not be going onto do the psychology one here, so anything that will enlighten me further would be great!
Yes, I would also like to better understand the body and facial language of the horse. Domonstrations where Monty is with different horses and explains what their head, face, ear position, and body language is telling him would be of great help.
I agree completely! It would be so helpful to watch videos specifically on the language of the horse!
I agree again. Also, more info on learning to use OUR human bodies to communicate with our horses.
There are some videos on youtube that do this to a certain extent - they are worth watching.
On youtube under what? :)
There are a few videos at www.meaway.com The lady explains quite well what the horses are demonstating. Still I too would like to see some done by Monty as I just can't get enough of this kind of instruction
Youtube under horseandcountry tv and also under Monty Roberts
For example watch: http://www.horseandcountrytv/episode/monty.roberts-episode-1
It is a great video and the best I have seen for explaining the equus language and what Monty has achieved. Definitely worth watching and it will answer most of the queries here.
Hi Guys! I have a new clip coming up on youtube for you - talking about the language Equus, when long lining, walking with your horse and riding - keep the wood requests coming - any specific topic? Warmest Ann Lindberg
www.mea-way.com :)
Ann, do I just search your name on youtube? :)
Ann,
I have a 12 year old gelding that's very heavy in the mouth and pushes through the bit. I was reading in Monty's book, "From my hands to yours" and he says that horses that are heavy in the mouth have hardened tissues because they've been constantly pulled hard on. Does this mean that I can't teach him to be soft in the mouth? I've been teaching him how to long line and tightening up the side reins hoping he will learn to yield to the bit but if the tissue in his mouth has been hardened am I wasting my time?
thanks Ann for your videos on youtube and thanks Rhonda for having the courage to allow yours to be seen and critiqued even when things are not working because that lets the rest of us learn and see the contrasts between how we might be cueing our horses and creating responses we don't want without knowing it and how we need to change our body language. BRillant , just brillant.
Dear kleinne, The key here is to understand horses learn on the release - not the pull -saying that I will go straight out to the paddock and make you a new video! Love all your questions and thoughts! And ofourse you can re -school him to be soft and nice!
Warmest Ann
Thank you so much Ann I really appreciate it! It's so wonderful that you're willing to help us in such a personal way.
Thanks again.
By the way, I can't wait for the video!

And THANKS!!!! Ann.
Good videos on the UK "horseandcountrytv" site. Twenty videos in total on this See my listing and comments on these.
Jep! Me too! I would like to watch videos from Monty, where he translates the language of horses in a wild herd. I want to see examples and listen to his comments. However, I propose that Monty produces A Video Dictionary of Equus Language! And another word about "comming soon" I have seen all published videos by Monty at the online university and it is not boring to review the videos I have seen several days ago but i am very interested to see some new.
