I've used join-up successfully with all my horses but right now I have a 9 year-old Paso Fino that I board at a wonderful stable that has no roung pen. They do have a riding rind (actually its a rectangle) which is far too big to use as a round pen. So, how do I go about teaching my guy in this situation?
Thanks

Hi Cayosmom - I would try the retangle pen as join up is possible in a larger area. Monty has a video with join up in a fairly large riding area you may care to watch that first.
To help so that he/she doesnt nap to the corners, use a jump pole like an aframe across the corners of the school, this will help so he/she wont stop in any corners. We've had to do that with our boy as we only have a retangular school. Hope that makes sense? Mel x
It is possible to do join up in a large area. Monty did join up with shy boy on a huge property. Give it a go
