Has anyone else had this happen? My husband took me to see a filly he was planning on buying for me, if I liked her, and her owner caught her and brought her over to me. I looked her over, led her around, and then started to leave her, but she refused to allow me to, she followed me everywhere I went, although she didnt follow her owner or anyone else. I liked her, so we bought her, and the next day I led her half a mile to her new home, and except for trying to go back to her horse friends, she came along nicely, and every time I go out to her, she follows me everywhere I go. She is 2 and a half. I have only had her since September. I think maybe she likes me? I never have to catch her, she just comes to me. Her former owner cant believe it.

This is special phantom. I am so pleased you bought this filly. She obviously did like you and was asking to go with you - maybe it was something about your scent. A similar thing happened to me when I first saw Pie. She tried to kill her young owner but accepted me as soon as I walked into the yard alone. She was very frightened and very scared after being brutally treated by some awfully cruel guy who attempted to re-train her. She allowed me to rub her down and saddle her. I didn't ride her as I had no interest in buying her but when I took the saddle off she followed me to the gate. Her owner was amazed and when I went into their cafe to have a coffee before leaving me she asked me if I would possibly take her for a few months while she continued to try to sell her. I still have Pie as I did end up buying her. I haven't been able to ride her for 15 years mainly due to injuries she suffered during the horrific retraining! All her joints had been injured and she had 2 broken ribs in her back. Fortunately your filly has not suffered like my Pie but she obviously liked you and wanted to be with you. All the very best with your filly.
Thank you both. Princess is a very sweet girl. She has never been abused and never will be. I am training her myself so I can e absolutely sure of that. And, Majestic, maybe I AM calm, but I go ballistic when I see anyone abusing a horse, not calm at all then!
