i want to acheive join-up with a pony named abi, but the pasture is huge, and there is no round pen or a pen at all.

Hi dicblackbird, did you see the videos on catching the horse in the pasture? We're in the middle of the series rightnow, but I think you can benefit from them already for your work with your pony Abi. There is a lesson also on Join-up with a big brown horse without a roundpen, it's more walking for the human and for the horse also, but it can be done.
I saw from your entry on the certification that you're still young, congratulations on your interest in this non-violent way of living with our horses. You are tomorrows adult horseperson, good to know that the next generation is on its way!
