My horse hasn't had Join-Up done in more than a year.  He's had six or more Join-Ups done.  After those Join-Ups, it took effort for him to even move at throwing the line at him.  Should Join-Up continue to be a part of his learning?

Hi Kenny. I get the feeling it might not have been you doing the Join up with your horse. Either way, I suspect whoever was doing it may not have been fully clear with their communication. That's a problem that can be fixed by the human improving their technique & someone with better skills helping your horse. Yes, Join up can be useful in further training, at least in the beginning to establish trust & a working partnership, but like any skill when applied poorly it is of questionable value. Cheers, Jo.
