As some of you probably know, I'm leasing a horse for a month, and after I did a practice ride with him, I asked my instructor if I can lunge him for a while, she has a round pen, so she told me that I can go in there with him. There was a lunge whip I could have used, but I chose not to use it. I did basically all that Monty teaches in the join-up process, I oriented him to the round pen, then I took his lead rope off, and let him go! I ran him around for a while, and getting him to turn, then I watched for all the signs, ear locked on me first, then licking and chewing started later, then he slowed down, and started lowering his head. When I new he was ready to come in, I turned my back to him, and I started walking, he followed me! I'm not sure if I did everything correct, but the result was, he joined up with me. :D

Good deal! Correct or not, you succeeded, which is more than I have been able to do with Princess, she just will NOT go away! Am hoping for better luck with the new ones.
Good job.

Thats great addict :-)
I'm wondering how many join ups can I do? I know you can't do too many, is it 4-5?
