I've been studying the section of the Uni video lessons called "Georgia's Phobias", and was intrigued by Monty's inclusion of the honey stick. I'm just curious if anyone has tried it...but do you think the same concept could apply by replacing honey with maple sugar?

I think you could use anything that the horse likes the taste of - honey, maple syrup, molasses or whatever - just be careful not to use too much, a little bit smeared on goes a long way, just enough to get a pleasant taste.
Just to agree with emlaw. :)
I used a vitamin B concentrate called "Shy Feeder". A red, syrupy and sweet liquid.
If I had had to use this on my old girl, honey would not be an option to begin with since she dislikes it.
Use whatever the horse likes! We have a little pony who loves bananas! Works like a charm!
