I am going to watch it, too, but in Germany it starts in the mid of February, so I have to wait some time. I will take some tissues with me, too!

My daughters went to see it last week with their friends and they said it was really good, but very sad.

its AMAZING! i am 13, and i thought it was sad, but 1 box of tissues should get you through!
There are some deaths- but none of my absolute favorite characters died, so it wasn't as sad as it seems.
It was kind of humorous, and dramatic, and tragic.
a must see :)

I went to see War Horse last night. It does have some challenging scenes for horse lovers and it also demonstrates the absolute futility of war in general. The movie is an excellent production and is historically very accurate. It's not a feel good movie, however it is very thought provoking in regard to how on earth horses still want to be partners with us after everything we have done to them. I have seen the video of the puppets, it's amazing isn't it?
On Montys' New Year address video he says that the play and movie are based on his books, wow.
I want to see the movie but I know I'll be upset by some scenes.
I might wait until it comes on DVD as well.
But my it must be something to see on the big screne!!!

Hi Horse addict, i saw Warhorse on wednesday night...it was great! There are some scenes which i gasped at but they were not too hard to watch. I had my beloved TB gelding die last year after 12 years together so i really thought i would find this hard to watch, (as it is set in the war there are horse deaths in the movie) but it wasn't too bad. Hope you get to see it!
Ronda, This movie is AWESOME on a big screen! Where i saw it we have screens that curve round a bit so you feel like you are there! There are a couple of upsetting scenes but the most emotional ones are good ones! I was totally prepared to cry my way through it but only had a few tears. It is well worth seeing, and if you choose to wait till it comes out on dvd it will be well worth the wait! :-)

I'm going to see the movie tomorrow night, I was told some scenes are going to be very strong since it's a war movie. Not looking forward to that.

Nah they are not that bad. I have seen plenty of war movies and this one is pretty tame. Speilberg normally has pretty horrid scenes but he has kept this film emotional but pretty light on the blood and stuff. You will love it i am sure :-)

I just saw the movie! It was great! It's not as bad as I thought it would be. I think it's the best Spielsberg made :)
