I am 65 years old and haven't worked around horses for many years. Being semi-retired I decided to renew my love for horses by working at a local horse rescue here in Florida. I've been taking online sessions in the online university. Recently I went to a 2 day training with Hannah Zaplatel at Wildewood Farm near Atlanta Georgia. Hannah is a gracious host and excellent trainer.
TODAY, I did my first join-up/follow-up with a rescue horse who tries to kick when being caught in her holding pen. The join-up went perfect she gave me all of the signs and joined up after a couple of arcs across face.
I guess it's never to late to learn.
Brilliant, thanks for sharing that with us, it's amazing what life can throw at us isn't it?! So much to learn. Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures :-)
Fantastic DLC, can we know your first name??
Now you know what it feels like, you've started yourself of a journey to helping more horses!
Was there anything specific that this rescue horse needs to help her move forwards?
