Hey everybody, I loved the Equine Touch videos, but i just had a few questions about the second one that involves the muscle-exploding. I was a bit confused about the 'skin back, apply pressure, move' procedure. I understand how you carry it out because in some points in the video the camera angle was very good and you could see it very well, but i don't understand exactly how you use it! What i mean, is that sometimes Jock pulled the skin downwards and then pushed up, and sometimes he did the opposite, or did it sideways instead. How do you know in which direction you have to do the maneuver? And then, just to clarify for where you use it, you use it on the places you found were tense or hotter and there were elements of pain, right? Because i wasn't sure exactly what Jock meant when he mentioned a couple times about how he uses 'body landmarks' as a guide.
Thank you very much!

It would be difficult to copy what is seen on the video as you would really need to attend an Equine Touch Course. During Level 1 you would get to understand all about the move and be able to do basic work on your own horses.
Unfortunately this is a whole body system and working on specific points would not achieve the best results.
If you look on the website you can find out if there are any courses in your area as that is the only way to really learn all about what Jock was doing.
Sorry there are no short cuts.
The point of the video was to show that pain can often exist in horses and we are not aware of it and that there is a system you can learn to help you help your horse.
The good thing about Equine Touch is that the basic work can be learnt in 3 days and you do not need to have a medical background to understand the concept.

I just received a newsletter from Ivana. It is beautiful, lots of memories of Jock and beautiful pictures.
He sings a song of Scotland and it too is beautiful.
My hertiage on both sides is Scot and I reconized his accent as soon as I heard it.
Not quite as strong as my Grandfather's but there just the same.
If you have the opportunity to go to their site do so, you will feel very encouraged to do ET with your horse.
Be safe!

Just watch the video over and over and you´ll figure it out. I tried it with an old mare and she loved it and and every time she sees me calls me to do it again. I am in Mexico.
caporal: i did actually do that but it doesn't show very clearly how exactly to do it in the videos, and i dont want to do it wrong and have anything bad happen... You seem to have done it quite successfully though! I'll take you as a good example and do my best :)
Ruth: I'd love to attend a course, but unfortunately there are none near where i live (France), and at the moment i am too busy and unable to travel far :(
One of our Instructors Emma Knowles takes courses in France but not sure exact location. Have a look on our Equine Touch Website where you can get Emma's contact details. Maybe she can help you. I know she goes to France quite a lot but not sure exactly where. Ruth
