Dressage

Hello! 100 lessons completed 150 lessons completed 200 lessons completed 250 lessons completed

I took a dressage clinic when I was 36 years old. HOw much work it was. Then Monty showed us JJ Tate and her horses. There is a lot of concern with top flight horses in dressage right now. JJ; changed my mind about the sport and taught me that it is a process. She is a wonderful teacher and I am glad that I got to see a clinic with George and the young guy FB. Thank you Monty for the new teachers and the new chances to be a better horse women

Oh I think it was wonderful and refreshing to see,and listen to, dressage rider JJ.Tate.I WISH she could influence the judges in the UK where dressage is truely a dreadful sight.I used to go to a three day event every year,(Burghley),to watch, but it grew to be too upsetting, seeing over bent, overbitted, unhappy horses and far from elegant, jiggly riders getting good marks! Baffling ! :(

I really loved learning from JJ Tate. I thought her comment on her greatest acheivement being that her horses are always happy to see her was lovely. It made me think that this should be our goal every day; our horses should hate to see us leave and look forwards to working with us again.

As a dressage judge (although neither British nor at International levels) I am just thrilled to see someone like JJ. Tate dance and play with her horses with such ease and grace.
I can only imagine the work she has put in to get there. It takes lots of skill, patience and hard work to make yourself such an accomplished rider. There are no short cuts! She's a role model for us all and I am very happy that Monty let us take part of her knowledge and horsemanship.
As I work with my youngster - having just barely backed him - my leading star and hope is that my greatest achievement with him will also be that he is always happy to see me.
