Diary keeping with online support

Hello! 100 lessons completed 150 lessons completed 200 lessons completed

It would be good if there was a function on the university website, for students to keep a daily diary of their journey with their individual horses, for online instructors to read and give support to that journey. It could be optional for the uni student to make it public so that others can share the journey and learn from it as well, or private if the student would rather just share it with the qualified instructors. For example it might look like: Day One: Today I experimented with erecting a temporary round pen... Day Two: I tried join up and this is what happened... etc.

Hi. Welcome to the Uni - you're clearly an enthusiast, as am I! The threads allow you & others to update & if you want to do that daily, go ahead. Trouble is, most people have busy lives ( unlike the retired oldies, like me, who only have 2 youngsters, an unbroken 7 year old who is currently being sat on by a non rider, who I need to keep safe, plus a Welsh A. ) Daily updates might be a bit much to ask. Like the innovative thinking though. Cheers, Jo.

Hi Jo, thanks for your reply. Maybe it could be an optional thing so that there's no pressure to have to do it daily. I'm also very busy - lol I have five children (four of them fostered), plus farm animals and horses to take care of. But I think it would be fun if each student could have the option to build their own horse profiles on their pages and share progress. :) :) :) There may be weeks when a student does very little with their horse, but it would help a student to be able to look back at their horse-profile and progress, and see a 'bigger picture' of how they've been spending their time and why or why they haven't advanced in certain areas. :) But a lot more work for the website builder - I understand. :)

A nice idea Aotearoa, the website functions though wouldn't allow this type of set up. I understand from Debbie, Monty's daughter, that something like this has already been looked at but not possible on the current platform.
what some of us have done is start a blog post in the topic Horse Behavior and Training then we details what we've been doing and get help from others if needed.
If you started a post titled with your horses name then you could add onto this post each time you have chance, we can all then watch your progress and chip in if needed if you get stuck. Each time you post an update it will be brought to the top of the recent posts page so we'll know you've updated it.
If you wanted to include photos, then many of us find Flickr, Instagram and Youtube etc of value
If it's been a while inbetween updates and you don't see you post on the timeline, then just popping the name of your horse in the search bar for the Uni will bring up a list of posts containing your horses name. That way you can always find it and continue to add progress to it. :D
