Can you join up with a horse that is already trained?

I have many polo horses that I ride but I would like to see if I could join up with one of them or maybe multiple to create a stronger bond and relationship. Do you all have any experience with joining up with an already trained horse and if so did that increase your bond or had any noticeable differences in behaviour or responsiveness?

Join up absolutely works on horses that have already been trained! Although they may not perceive it the same way they may think it is another training exercise at first like lunging. you should definitely check out “Monty‘s tour demonstrations” videos! He works with a whole slate of horses who have been trained but may exhibit some remedial behaviors.
