I'd really like to see a lesson on giving in to the bit and teaching a horse to be in frame, because it's one of these things that i'm a bit hazy on, because i've never been properly taught how to do it, nor how to teach a horse to do it! I only know what i've taught myself by trial and error and watching other people closely as they do it, but i feel that i can't do it well consistently enough, so i'd love if there was a lesson on it so that at least i'd know how to improve instead of doing all this guesswork!
thanks!

Yes me too Linda :) I know how I've been taught, but I'd like to see Monty's take on it too!
Working on long lines with elastic side reins(or bungees)sets up horses to learn to bow off pressure.(See long lining vids here) Then, when ridden, either bitted or with a Dually, give sufficient rein to set the frame, and OPEN your own "elastic fingers" when he bows off that rein! Thus keeping him self balanced, light and with impulsion.
Continued contact dulls a mouth and the horse will not learn lightness. The weight of the leather is all you hold....Best!
