It should be I congratulating you. The time you gave me in coming to Australia, and the expertise you’ve passed on to Caroline, has just worked wonders. The intuition you shared with Ryan and my barrier attendants has been invaluable. We love you being with us “down under” and hope your return to Australia is imminent.
Yesterday’s win in the Melbourne Cup was a result of a year working together as a team; getting the talented yet bullish Fiorente to accept a more user-friendly approach to training and racing.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart – for all the time and energy you gave me to help make this Cup win happen.

Yes that is trully wonderful. Thankyou Debbie for sharing that news with us. I knew from media reports that Gai had invited Monty to her stables and so when I realised she had a horse in The Cup I knew with certainty that Fiorente would win it. I would also like to thank Monty for coming to Australia and sharing his knowledge with us. Gai is well loved in Australian racing and is affectionally known as the Queen of the track. Sadly I missed attending Monty's clinic when he was in Sydney earlier this year. Perhaps if his busy agenda allows, he might return for another clinic in Queensland!
