Hey everyone,

so i know it's not this week's lesson but i was wondering if there were any plans on continuing that series about nipping & biting. I was under the impression that there would be more videos when the first one was released but then it moved on to TOP. Any info on that ?

Thanks

Are you having a problem with this with your horses? If so, maybe I could give you some suggestions. Nipping and biting is a remedial problem, that can be very frustrating at times to try and stop. First, do not feed from your hands and do not let others feed them from their hands. If you are having a problem at all with your horses in this way and are unsure how to handle it you should see someone with more experience to help you if you can as long as they believe in Monty's ways. Otherwise, you could create a bigger problem. When any horses that I get start that sort of thing I find a way to distract them from that biting and it stops!! That way,it will not get worse! There is not much else that can be said about this remedial problem. I do the same things when they start that pawing. It works for the 3 yr olds & younger. Then they are able to make up their own minds to stop when they are distracted, they will stop then. Monty has been a god sent to me if you know what I mean. He is so full of information and so willing to help anyone, with problems. Horse or human. Invest in his books they are a wealth of information in them to help you also. You will not regret it! Its nice to have them to go back to and look up things that your dealing with at the time. I sure do! Just be safe whatever you do!

I saw beside the video lesson you referred to that the next lesson in that series is going to be showing on the 28th June.

Thanks a.rumble, but no, i don't have that problem actually, i was curious to see how monty would do it in the videos because i'm having a hard time explaining to some people around me why it's so counter productive to slap a horse on the nose when they bite/nip and especially what they should do instead.
I solved that problem with my young mare when i bought her but somehow i can never explain the steps i used so that's why i was hoping for the rest of the series :D

Vee, yep i saw that ! cool :)

Sorry I didn't catch that as Vee did! Distraction is a great tool to use for bad manners!! We are able this way to be kind as well to them! The newest video is now adding to our knowledge, enjoy!!
